I'm writing this in hopes of helping less experienced galaxytool database admins transfer their databases to new web hosts. If there's a better section to put this thread in maybe one of the BAs will move it there, but since ULMB's blocking of the galaxytoolbar is affecting many of the Galaxytool users I figured this would be a good section for this info.

I transfered the database from ULMB.com to x10hosting.com so some things may be different if you're using different websites, but the basic idea should still help you get the database transfered.

My first step was to export the correct data from ULMB.com. There are at least three different backup/export options from their website so you want to make sure you export the right one. From your control panel home you go into the MySQL databases, and under the Current Databases you want to click the corresponding phpMyAdmin, not the Backup option, that was my first mistake, the Backup option only lets you download the database tables with no actual data. Once you're in phpMyAdmin, click on the Export link. There are many different choices of export formats, but I just left everything alone. Select the correct database under the Select All/Unselect All box, check the Save as File box and click Go. A popup box comes up with options of what you want to do with the SQL file, I chose the Save to Disk radio button and saved the file to my Desktop.

Now that I have the database data, I got to work on getting Galaxytool working on the new web host. I set up the database following instructions from the GalaxieTool Guide v3 thread. Once I got the right info in config.php the install.php link worked perfectly. Now you should have the correct database structure on your new web host.

The last step is to import the data from your old database to your new one. Get into the control panel, and click on phpMyAdmin under the Databases section, again this may be different if you're using another web host, but as long as you can get into phpMyAdmin you should be ok. Select the correct database from the link on the left, and check all ten fields or use the Check All link, and with the With Selected drop down box choose Drop. This will take a few moments as the database tables are deleted(this step may not be necessary but it's the way I got it working.) Now you want to open the .sql file(with Wordpad) you downloaded earlier from ULMB.com and delete the entire CREATE DATABASE line(very important). Make sure you save the file and go back to phpMyAdmin. Click on the import link, browse for the correct file, keep all other options the same and click Go. Now your old Galaxytool data should be uploading into your new web host database.

Type in your new webhost's link with the usual /galaxy tool/secret and you'll get the login screen with all the old user's login and passwords working so if you changed the admin password in the original database it will stay what you changed it to. It won't be galatool like you may expect it to be if you're following the GalaxieTool Guide v3 thread. Now just log in and all your old galaxy/notices/espy data should be there! Don't forget to update your Galaxytoolbar data to start updating to your new database!

I hope this helps, and if there are any more experienced MySQL users who can add to or correct anything I may have put here, please do, as I just figured out how to do this over the past few days through trial and error.

I forgot one other important edit on the .sql file you download from ULMB.com. Before you upload the .sql file to your new database, you also need to change the database name to match your new server's database name.

Ex:
ULMB was 4824_feolas
x10hosting is insomniac_feolas

Also x10hosting has now banned the Galaxytoolbar script so don't waste your time trying to get the database working there.

After downloading the ZIP file, you need to extract it. After that you will have to modify the config.php and attributes.php (from the /secret/ directory) to suit your needs. You receive the required information for the database connection from your webhoster.
If the modification of your config.php is finished, you need to upload all files to your server. Start the install.php on your webserver by typing

Go to your folder where you have downloaded galaxy tool (if you didn't download it yet go to the [[Download]] section on our page). In the folder you will find the "readme.txt" and some more files (including "install.php"). Well first we are going to find "config.php". Open in and then change the following:

$dbusername = 'username';

Write the username for your MySQL database in the quotation marks (you get the username from your webhoster).

$dbpassword = 'password';

Write the password for your MySQL database in the quotation marks (you get the password from your webhoster, too).

$dbname = 'database';

Write the name of your MySQL database in the quotation marks (again, you get the name from your webhoster).

$dbhost = 'localhost';

Write the address (e.g. localhost) for your MySQL database in the quotation marks. You will get the address from your webhoster.

$dbtablename = 'galaxy';

Write the name of the galaxy table (all the data like planets and coordinates) in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_galaxy to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

$utablename = 'user';

Write the name of the user table (the users of the tool) in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_user to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

$playertable = 'players';

Write the name of the players table in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_players to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

$allytable = 'alliances';

Write the name of the alliance table in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_alliances to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

$noticetable = 'notices';

Write the name of the notices table in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_notices to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

$reporttable = 'reports';

Write the name of the espionage reports table in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_reports to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

Write the name of the IP addresses table (IP addresses from the users of the tool) in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_ip to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

$shouttable = 'shoutbox';

Write the name of the shoutbox table (the shoutbox on the overview page of the tool) in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_shoutbox to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

$allyhistory = 'allyhistory';

Write the name of the allyhistory table in the quotation marks. It is recommended to use a significant name like u15_allyhistory to know what the tables are used for if you look in your database.

If you leave this field empty (no name between the quotation marks), no statistic records are saved. You can save webspace by keeping this field empty. The tables for statistics can become 20 MB / year for an average alliance with 10 members.

$playerhistory = 'playerhistory';

Now if you have edited "config.php" it is time to edit some stuff to give galaxy tool another look. Now in the same folder ("secret") there is a file called "attributes.php". Open in and we are going to change some things:

Write your alliance or OGame nickname in the quotation marks. It is shown at the login screen to show which tool you are using if you play in different univereses.

$maxshouts = 15;

Enter your admin Email address where you want to receive emails about newly registered users.

Here you can add an email address which should be shown in the FROM field of registration emails. Put the address between quotation marks.
If someone registers himself at the galaxytool, an email is sent to this address showing that someone registered and needs to be activated.
If you want to disable registering, you have to delete the register.php file.

If your webserver does not support mail functionality you can also use an external email provider by using these variables:

This is your Universe number. Do not leave out this variable! It will be used to check for the correct universe if you enter data via [[Toolbar|Galaxytool Firefox plugin]].

After the installation you have to delete the install.php and the update.php!

You should change the password for the admin account after you log in the first time! Do this in the [[User_options|User Options]], not in [[User_management|User Management]]

For those who have been getting session time out messages as soon as you logged in the problem is in your php.ini file. Log into your hosting providers control panel and find the php controls edit the php.ini when inside it search for session.auto_start and change its attribute of 0 to 1 then save it it. now you should be able to log into gtool as you normally would.

The Toolbar works only with Mozilla Firefox. The installation script for Mozilla did not work yet.
There are no toolbars for Opera and IE at the moment!

You can activate and deactivate the toolbar to avoid mistakes if you are playing in more tha 1 universe. At startup the toolbar is always deactivated and must be activated before it's first usage. If the toolbar is activated it works for all instances or tabs of the browser!

To use the plugin, it must be installed as a Firefox Add-on.

Click on the download link via the [[download]] page and install the addon.

(You may be directed to save the plugin, if so save to your desktop and then click/drag the plugin .xpi to an open firefox window to install).

You will have to close/reopen firefox to activate the plugin.

To define your options:

To do this, on the firefox menubar click on "Tools"

Then "Add-ons"

Find your Galaxytool Plugin addon and select the options button.

That will bring you to the new options screen.

There is room for up to 5 universes through the plugin.

You have to fill in the server of your universe in the "Ogame Servername" field. You can get the server address by right-clicking on the "overview" link at OGame and choose "copy link location". You will get an address like this:

http://uni15.ogame.de/game/overview.php?session=yoursession (german Uni 15).

Now you remove the "http://" and everything from "/game" to the end. That's your server address: uni15.ogame.de you have to fill in the first column.

In the "Galaxytool URL" field the path to the galaxyplugin.php of the corresponding galaxytool. Normally the file galaxyplugin.php is stored at the secret folder of your galaxytool. That file receives the information from the toolbar and its URL must be inserted at the URL textfield. You need to fill in the complete path, e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/pathtogalaxytool/secret/galaxyplugin.php
The admin can delete the file if he does not want the usage of the toolbar. He can also rename the file, so nobody knows the URL except authorized users. So if you are not sure ask your admin whats the URL to the required file.

Note-http://www.yourdomain.com/pathtogalaxytool/secret/galaxyplugin.php Your link should look like that, with the /secret/galaxyplugin.php. 

The "Username" and "Password" fields should be filled in with your Galaxytool username/password.

Also, the universe field should fill itself on upon your first login to ogame with the toolbar 2.0 enabled.

Save the data by clicking "ok".

Now your toolbar is ready to use!

If the data was sent successfully the status of the toolbar changes to show what you have updated.

The status information and all texts of the toolbar are only available in english but you can use them with every OGame language! It works with english as well as with french, spanish...
